My TinyTalk Scrapbook (2017-present)

STORY: Tonight during bedtime Alice (16mths) signed ‘mummy sing’ I always sing some nursery rhymes as she is feeding and although she has signed ‘sing’ a few days ago I’m so excited she signed ‘mummy’ tonight’s as well.

STORY: Alice (17mths) is able to sign along with books we read and songs we sing. She is also joining in with conversations at meal times by signing whatever words she can when she hears them. Last night at bedtime when I was talking to her about our day and the walk we had been on she was able to sign ‘flower’ before I could say it!

STORY: We went for a walk today and Alice (18mths) was signing so many things - bird, duck, bumble bee, horse, dog, water, tree, flower, aeroplane. She also signed hungry, food and home. She even signed sleep when she saw some ducks curled up having a rest- that’s just too cute! I never cease to be amazed by what she can, and wants to, sign to me!!

STORY: This week as I was leaving the house to go for a walk with the family dog Alice (age 3) used 6 signs through the window to tell me that her big sister 'L' is 'sad' and 'wants' a 'cuddle' (with) 'mummy' (and should come) 'home'. I returned to the house to some bigs hugs from my girls and now everyone can play happily whilst I'm out.
STORY: Alice (3) has learnt that signing is like a super power and that she gets lots of praise for using her signs. This week Alice really wanted some of her Easter chocolates (definitely a treat in our house) and rather than ask for it she decided to deploy her signing skills and her cutest smile in hope that it might get her what she wanted. Yes, she got some chocolate but we had to negotiate what she could have :)
