Hello, I'm Nicola and I am really pleased to be the only TinyTalk teacher for Newcastle under Lyme and Stoke Central. January will see the start of my second term as the single provider of TinyTalk Baby Signing classes in this area and classes start on the 6 and 7 January. There are three venues to choose from:

Tuesday 9.

Tuesday 10am Balance & Beam, Festival Park, ST1 5PU
Wednesday 9. 30am at Newcastle Baptist Church ST5 3BN

But more about why I want to offer baby signing to the families in my local communities and why I want you to come and join me.

I'm a Grandma and I've been taking my granddaughter to Tiny Talk classes for the last 3 years in Birmingham, and she graduated from the classes on the 17th July 2024. I'll still be attending as her brother joined us just over a year ago. On the back of attending classes I decided that I would look into training to be a Tiny Talk Teacher and here I am setting up my own classes!

But why baby signing? It was a new concept which my daughter introduced me to but watching the children develop their signing skills and communication skills has been such a positive journey. From a young age, only months old, they are able to tell us that they are crying because they want milk, they wave and clap appropriately to say hello and goodbye, the very early signs. These have developed and my granddaughter at 3 years old now has in excess of 100 signs.

The sessions are fun, informative and great social times. I've met so many lovely people and children along the way and my daughter has made friends and contacts through fun and support. I am so grateful for all we've gained as a family from Tiny Talk and if I can give just a little of that back to the families who will hopefully attend my sessions in September, I'll be a happy bunny.

The sessions are an hour long with thirty minutes for signing, singing and playing familiar songs and nursery rhymes followed by thirty minute for the babies to play and the parents/carers to socialise with a cup of tea and a biscuit in a safe environment.
