Hello, I'm Joanna and I run TinyTalk Aberdeenshire Rural. I started classes at the end of January 2022.
I started going to TinyTalk classes with my 6 week old baby back in 2018. Initially I was just looking for something to get me out of the house and had heard lots of stories about the benefits of baby signing so thought I'd give it a try. By the time we'd done a few classes I was completely hooked. Not only was it a great way to bond with my baby but I got to meet other parents, a hot cup of tea and a biscuit too!
What can you expect from my classes?
Classes are fun, friendly and relaxed. We learn British Sign Language signs through songs, rhymes and sensory play as well as stories and much much more. We also have a refreshment break where your baby can play (or nap! ) and you get a hot drink made for you while you chat to other parents and grandparents etc. in the group.

Favourite Sign:It has to be 'Milk'. It was super helpful in finding out what my little ones were after!
Qualifications:I'm also a Volunteer Breastfeeding Peer Supporter through the NHS.
Favourite Film:Flashdance! Who wouldn't want to be able to dance like that?!
Pet Hate:My partner commenting on how well the kids slept when I was up all night with them!
I most admire:Women. We are amazing, versatile and so so resilient.
I love baby signing because:It opens worlds of communication between us and our babies and also between us and other signing families. We're teaching our babies a new way to talk to us...imagine the opportunities we're creating.
