Hello!! Welcome to TinyTalk South Manchester. I am your local TinyTalk Teacher and I begun my Tiny Talk journey at the start of 2024. I have 2 children of my own, Jack is 7, and Isabelle is 4. I have attended Tiny Talk with both children, and between us we must be using over 200 signs! I was a primary school teacher for over 12 years, however when the opportunity to start running Baby Signing classes came up I jumped at the chance. It is amazing to see how little ones can make themselves understood by using signs to communicate before they have a voice.
In July 2025, I decided teaching in a Primary School is no longer for me, and I now teach TinyTalk Baby Signing and Toddler Talking classes 4 days a week!
I have classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Mondays', we are at Players Theatre in Cheadle Hulme for both Baby Signing and Toddler Talking. Tuesdays' are at Westcroft Community Centre in Burnage for Baby Signing only. Thursdays' and Fridays' are both at United Didsbury Methodist Church in Didsbury, with Toddlers Talking and Baby Signing on Thursdays, and just Baby Signing on a Friday.
TinyTalk Baby Signing and Toddler Talking classes are 1 hour long, in the first half hour we have lots of fun introducing the sign in nursery rhymes, songs, books and games. The signs are based on a weekly theme and we also introduce some sensory activities to develop your babies communication skills and musical instruments. The second half hour is social time for you and your little ones! You can enjoy a brew and a biscuit whilst you have a chat with other local parents and your little one learns to play and interact with others.

Meet Emma...
Children:Jack 7, Isabelle 4 - both now at school but attended TinyTalk as babies and toddlers.
Location:Multiple venues in Cheadle Hulme, Burnage and Didsbury.
Favourite Sign:Oh, it has to be the sign for hedgehog! It's great!
Qualifications:Ba Hons in Dance Performance and Teaching, PGCE in General Primary with QTS, BSL Level 1
Favourite Film:Oooh tough one, I think Chicago, or anything Disney related!
Secret Passion:Dancing, although it’s not much of a secret with a Degree in Dance
I most admire:All parents.... I never truly appreciated how tough it can be until I was one myself!
I love baby signing because:It provides children with the chance to communicate before they know how to talk, or when they can't always find the word. Both of my children sign and speak at the same time when they can!
