|Welcome to the TinyTalk classes of Lindsay Buck
Hi I'm Lindsay, mum to Sofie, long term TinyTalk attendee and TinyTalk teacher since 2015. |

If you want to understand your baby's needs, and enable meaningful communication up to a year BEFORE their very first words, then a TinyTalk class offers everything you need.
Carefully chosen well known songs, fantastic sensory activities & high quality props are the key to our British Sign Language teaching success. Each week, a different main sensory activity (including mirrors, sensory shapes, light-up balls, voile scarves, bubbles, signed stories and more), helps your baby's gross & fine motor skills, muscle development, visual tracking and other non-verbal elements of communication; all the essential pre-requisites of being able to sign.
30 mins of social time and refreshments then gives you a much needed chance to relax and get to know the other like-minded parents and carers in class each week. A wide selection of drinks is available, which are included in the class costs, and are made for you! And... There are always chocolate biscuits :)
Baby signing gives babies a voice long before their first words, and babies who are regularly signed to have the capacity to start signing back from around 6 months onwards (though every child is different!) Signing greatly helps to alleviate your child's frustrations and gives you an incredible insight into what your baby is thinking about. That moment when your baby recognises a sign for the first time, e.g. milk, is such an incredible milestone, and soon after when they realise that they can communicate with you, by signing back, the rewards will be priceless.
TinyTalk gives your baby's communication skills a huge head start! We teach BSL, the language of the deaf community, rather than Makaton which is a very individualized language system used with children and adults who have learning and communication difficulties.
Classes run for a minimum of 36 weeks per year; usually in three x 12-14 week terms, with a one week half term break. TinyTalk Baby Signing classes are suitable for babies from birth to 23 months.
All classes are pre-booked at a cost of £6.00 per week if you book for the whole term, or £6.25 a week for the half term. If you join a class mid-way through the term, you only pay for the remaining weeks. If you need to miss a week, refunds are not able to be given and classes cannot be carried over. However, please feel free to send a friend, or other carer(s) for your baby, in your place.
If you have sent an online or email enquiry, please check your junk mail folder for my reply. Thank you x
