Hi, I’m Julie, your local multi award-winning TinyTalk teacher for South Birmingham and North Worcestershire.
I’ve been supporting local families through baby signing classes since 2010 and have now welcomed over 3,000 families through my doors. I was honoured to receive the 2024 Club Hub Lifetime Achievement Award and to be ranked amongst the UK’s Top 100 Children’s Activity Providers for 2025 & 2026.
My own children, Katie and Ellis, were both TinyTalk babies, and it was seeing the difference signing made to our family life that inspired me to train as a teacher. Watching my babies communicate before speech, reduce frustration and grow in confidence was honestly fascinating — and I’ve loved helping other families experience that same magic ever since.
TinyTalk classes are about so much more than learning signs.
Every week, families enjoy a warm, welcoming and supportive environment filled with music, sensory activities, songs, books, instruments, movement and fun, all alongside everyday British Sign Language signs designed to support early communication and language development. Oh and a cuppa / biscuit!
But just as importantly, my classes are designed for parents too.
Whether you’re a first-time parent looking for friendship and support, returning with younger siblings, or simply searching for a class where you can relax and feel yourself again, you’ll find a supportive and non-judgemental community where everybody is welcome. Many families tell me the friendships they make in class become just as important as the signing itself.
Classes are available for newborns, babies and toddlers, with sessions carefully tailored to each developmental stage.

I most admire:Mums! It is the hardest job in the world!
I love baby signing because:it's the best job in the world! I get to meet lots of lovely babies/toddlers/adults each week & have lots of fun. Who wouldn't want to communicate with their baby from as early an age as possible! :)
