Welcome to TinyTalk, Kent Downs. I'm Deb and I first discovered baby signing when my son was about 5 months old. I was keen to do something different with him, and I loved the thought of getting my baby brain back into shape by learning a new skill!
We made a 60 mile round trip each week to attend our nearest TinyTalk class (yes, it was that good! ), and before long Nico was starting to pick up the signs. He first signed back to me at about 9 months, and at his peak used over 70 signs regularly!

I really believe it eased the frustrations of being a small toddler; we were able to communicate long before he could talk.
When my daughter was born I naturally signed with her right from the start - it's completely amazing when your tiny child tells you they've heard a noise, or seen an aeroplane or need a drink! Come and join in the fun at my classes! We sing familiar nursery rhymes, songs and stories and sign along to them, learning 150 signs to use at home as part of daily life. And there's some social time too for babies to play and interract and for us grown-ups to have a cuppa - how civilised! I look forward to meeting you and your little one soon...

Qualifications:Modern languages and music..
Favourite Film:Inception, The Greatest Showman or the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
Pet Hate:Mm...bad spelling, laziness, dog mess, bigotry, having no storage, car exhaust...the list goes on!
Secret Passion:Books. I'd love to do away with our TV and make more time for reading.
I most admire:Parents who battle against the odds to do the very best by their children.
I love baby signing because:It gives families a chance to learn what their child is thinking - how amazing is that! I remember the first time my baby told me she'd heard a noise in the garden and it was a bird! She was 13 month
Meet my Mini Teacher, Rebecca Anderson
Hi, I’m Becky!
My daughters and I have been signing since my eldest (who’s nearly 5) was 3 months old, we attended Deb’s classes and fell in love! It’s such a fun way for you and your baby learn a new skill, mingle with other parents/carers, and spend quality time with your little one.
I have a nearly two year old daughter who is absolutely loving signing, she’s currently on 34 signs (and counting!). It has changed the way I parent as it’s such an amazing tool to find out what your baby wants and needs; it saves so much guess work!
The classes are welcoming, different every week, and SO entertaining for your babies, they will love it! You’ll love the social time during class too, giving you chance to have a natter with the other grown-ups and enjoy a cuppa and a biscuit!
I can’t wait to welcome you into one of my classes and start your baby signing journey.
Meet my Mini-Teacher, Kirsty Sewell
Hello, I'm Kirsty and I'm very excited to be joining the Tiny Talk Team!
I have been attending Tiny Talk classes since my daughter Matilda was 2months old. We first joined the Newborn classes and just loved how peaceful and fun they were. Deb not only taught us signs and fun songs but also shared so much helpful information about the babies development. It honestly felt like a little holiday from day-to-day parenting where I got to learn and chat to other parents, while still sharing a fantastic experience with my baby (and getting a hot cuppa!)
We then moved onto the Baby classes and these have been Matilda's favourite ever since! She loves joining in with the songs and actions, and for me it has been such a joy to watch her learn and grow. Learning the signs has been utterly life changing, no more guessing what she wants as she can sign and tell me! Matilda knows over 50 signs and it still brings me so much joy to see her learn and use each new one.
I'm so excited to welcome you into my classes and help you begin your signing journey.
