Melanie Fairbrother
Hello!! My name is Melanie and I teach TinyTalk classes in the East Cheshire area.
I feel passionate about TinyTalk after attending classes with my own children in the past and I can't wait to help you fall in love with it too!
Babies learn to control their hands much sooner than their voices, so signing is a great way for them to communicate with us. They just need us to teach them how to! TinyTalk classes give you the skills to take home and practise signs with your baby (and the rest of the family).

And the more you sign with them, the quicker they should pick it up.
The classes are designed so that the learning is fun. They involve a lot of singing of nursery rhymes and some sensory activities (using colourful props, books, and bubble machines) and we have my assistant TinyTalk Ted to help us too of course. We also have a section for social time as that's also very important. As I'm preparing the drinks and biscuits, the babies learn to interact and share, while the grown ups get some (often much needed! ) time with other grown ups.

Meet Melanie...
Children:I have 4 fabulous boys ranging from 11 to 24 years old (which has certainly kept me busy!)
Location:I live in Macclesfield and hold classes in the East Cheshire area
Favourite Sign:Turtle - I don't know anyone that sees it and doesn't smile and have a go at it!
Favourite Film:I've loved Grease for as long as I can remember , and am also a huge fan of the Toy Story films
Pet Hate:Rude people. It's just not necessary and generally gets you nowhere
Secret Passion:Switzerland, but it's not really a secret. After living there for 14 years, who wouldn't love it?!
I most admire:People who aren't afraid to be themselves
I love baby signing because:It's a fantastic way for families to connect. The whole family can be involved - including older siblings. It reduces frustration as your baby feels understood and listened to.
