I was introduced to TinyTalk by a friend, I thought it sounded amazing but I was also quite sceptical if I am being very truthful! How could this possibly work? So in the Spring of 2013 when Josh was 8 months old, I took him to his first class with Donna, I'd never seen Josh behave in such a way, he was mesmerised by all the singing and signing.

Then one day, we were in a restaurant with a friend, Josh started signing milk - we were both amazed! After that it just snowballed. His signs grew so rapidly, by 12 months he knew over 20 signs. He can tell us if he's hurt himself or feeling ill and points to where it hurts, I can clearly remember one day I carried him out of the bathroom he leaned forward looked right into my eyes and signed teeth, reminding me I hadn't brushed his teeth!

Charlotte started attending classes with me when she was three months old and started signing at about 6 months, however now she is 5 she is now saying the words and dropping the signs, but every now and then if she is frustrated and can't get her words out, she will use the sign. However just like her big brother there were a few signs and words she learnt in the same day which was lovely to see.

Their ability to communicate was amazing for us as a family, it prevented all those frustrations and guess work of what's wrong/what do they want/how do they feel.

The class structure is amazing, absolutely the right balance for babies. The class is an hour long - half an hour is dedicated to signing and singing to popular nursery rhymes based on a theme each week e.g. Family or Mealtime, we also have puppets, sensory and instruments. Then we have half an hour for socialising which is your chance to have a nice drink and a biscuit/cake (or two!). You can chat with other adults, empathise about what a sleepless night you've had (!) and make friends while your baby plays and develops their social skills.

The TinyTalk Toddlers class is aimed at walkers up to 4 years....So why not come along to one of my classes for education and more than anything we have fun! The rewards are truly outstanding! I look forward to hearing from you. x
