Laura Terry
Hello everyone and a huge welcome! My name is Laura and I am so excited to be teaching baby signing classes in Melton Mowbray and soon to be South East Nottingham!
I am a mum to 2 beautiful and very energetic girls, Flo is 9 and Tilly is 6. I also have 2 fantastic teenage stepchildren who are 18 and 16! A friend of mine introduced me to TinyTalk and I couldn't wait to learn more especially with my background of teaching in Early years and understanding the importance of early communication for children.
I have been a primary teacher for 16 years and predominantly taught Early years which I have absolutely loved. Early communication is key in early childhood and lays the foundations down for their social and emotional development! Throughout my teaching career I aimed to create language rich environments, high quality (and of course fun and engaging! ) activities that promoted building speech and language progression, positive relationships with parents and a sense of community.
I am really excited about teaching Baby signing and opening up such early channels of communication for you and your baby! The classes include half an hour of signing, singing and of course... loads of fun! Plus half an hour of social time with toys, biscuits and more importantly caffeine! (There are other options too)! I remember when my 2 girls were babies the chance and time to chat with other parents, grandparents and carers was so important and I made some close friends who I am still close to now!

Pet Hate:People not using indicators when turning!
Secret Passion:Not very secret but it has to be chocolate!
I most admire:Compassionate people
I love baby signing because:I love seeing the joy on the faces of babies and also grown ups when those channels of communication are opened!
