Welcome to the TinyTalk classes of
Heather Briggs
Hello, I’m Heather the TinyTalk teacher for Cramlington, Killingworth and High Heaton.
I first came across TinyTalk in 2020 when I attended classes with my firstborn, and I enjoyed them so much that I returned in 2022 with my second. I was amazed with the levels of communication I was able to have with my daughters before their first words, and how signing helped reduce their frustration as they were able to tell me what they wanted.

I was amazed with the levels of communication I was able to have with my daughters before their first words, and how signing helped reduce their frustration as they were able to tell me what they wanted.
In my personal experience signing also helped my little ones learn new words, using their signs to help me understand what they were trying to say.
As a family we still use the signs they learnt as babies, for example when we’re in a loud busy environment, or when we are too far away from each other to talk.
Signing had such a positive impact on my family that when I started looking for a career outside of school teaching, running my own TinyTalk sessions immediately came to mind. Being able to help families develop communication in a fun, relaxed environment, and build relationships with others through social time is an honour.

Meet Heather...
Children:Mia and Ivy
Location:Cramlington, Killingworth and High Heaton
Favourite Sign:Bath, it makes me smile every time
Qualifications:PGCE in Secondary education, BSc Hons
Favourite Film:Anything with a good soundtrack, I’ll always have a soft spot for Disney
Secret Passion:Crochet, though my daughters ever expanding selection of toys mean its not a well kept secret
I most admire:people who are able to find the good in any situation
I love baby signing because:It benefits families in so many different ways, and personally it helped me bond with my children and make my life easier, allowing me to really enjoy the early years.

Baby Signing
Directions:This class is located in an upstairs room. There is a lift to access upstairs, however there is currently two steps up and down to access the room we will be using. Please let me know if you have any mobility issues which I will then attempt to accommodate.
Novocastrians RFC has its own car park. It is signposted as pay and display, however the club has agreed to put in a parking suspension during classes so you do not have to pay.
