TinyTalk Kenilworth, Coventry & Hinckley

I kept up signing milk every time I fed him, and I remember clearly the recognition on his face, he stopped crying and started flapping his arms around in excitement. What a magical moment and breakthrough for us. That was it, I did my research and self-taught baby signs until I found TinyTalk classes near to where I lived, and we haven’t looked back.

Watching T’s understanding and signs grow was just amazing, it was by far one of the best classes we had ever gone to as it had all the elements he loved, Signing, Singing, Sensory, music, props and instruments. It was so rewarding to practice at home and helped us communicate as a family- the grandparents were even on board as they could see the benefits and wanted to communicate with T too.

T said his first words slightly later than his peers but only by weeks, as he already had over 100 signs and was regularly using them together to get what he needed in a conversational way. When he did speak, he was so clear to understand as we used both words and signs together and his vocabulary was fantastic, people were so surprised at how young he was.

When my youngest came along it was a no brainer for us to continue our signing journey and it’s been a bonus to see T communicating with his little sister and pick up the few signs, he had forgotten so seamlessly.

Our classes are heaps of fun and what’s really lovely is, we have dedicated social time where you can meet and chat with other adults over a hot drink and a biscuit as its just as important to look after you as well as your baby.
We have different themes each week, with a recap week to imbed that knowledge. We use props, sensory objects, bubbles, stories and shakers. For little ones the big bag of toys comes out for playtime whilst the adults can have a natter.
