Hello from TinyTalk York! I'm Rachel and my 'little helper' is Ben. I'm the teacher for York and Pocklington and surrounding villages. I also offer TinyTalk's organisational training programmes.

TinyTalk baby signing classes are 1 hour long and suitable for newborns to 2 year olds. In the first half of the class we sing and sign to well-known nursery rhymes and action songs. The second half is playtime for the little ones and I make you a well-deserved cuppa! This part of the class gives you the chance to chat with other parents and carers and ask me any specific questions.

NEW for September 2010 TinyTalk Toddlers, suitable for 18mths-3years. Same accessible class structure with more focus on the spoken word.

My family and I have had great fun signing with Ben. The sign for 'milk' came first, quickly followed by 'more'! Beyond communicating his basic needs, signing has allowed Ben to share a little bit of his world with us - you can see some pictures of Ben signing on the 'scrapbook' page. It's been a fantastic way to involve grandparents, even those in America via webcam! Signing with your baby is a truly enriching experience, I hope to see you at one of my classes. I am currently on maternity leave, classes including new toddler classes will resume September 2010.
