Hello and Welcome to TinyTalk Glasgow! I'm Jules and I'm your local TinyTalk teacher and Mum to my own TinyTalker, Scott.

I took Scott to TinyTalk classes in Bishopbrigss when he was 4 months old and we loved it! Scott then started to sign when he was 5 months old. He started with "Milk" and has progressed rapidly from there and now has a signing vocabulary of about 30 signs.

I have a degree in English and Education, I was going to be a teacher but got lured into the corporate world instead. I became a trainer and trained everyone from front line staff to senior management, but after Scott was born decided that I didn't want to do that anymore. Too many long hours away from home so was looking for something I could do that would suit the skills I had and be more "family friendly".

I enjoyed the classes so much and could see so many benefits to being able to communicate with Scott that I decided to become a TinyTalk teacher. I now run the classes in Glasgow and love every minute of it! I really enjoy watching the babies and toddlers develop and learn new signs as well as being able to support the Mums (and Dads!) at the same time.

We have a great mix at each class and a very informal, friendly and informative environment. In fact one Mum has commented that she has learnt loads about being a parent just from chatting to others during the social time.

TinyTalk classes are 1 hour long starting with 1/2 hour of singing popular nursery rhymes and action songs with appropriate signs based on the weekly theme such as mealtime signs or animal signs. This is followed by 1/2 hour social time which is equally important, and a chance for the adults to chat and relax with a hot drink and a chocolate biscuit (or two!) while the babies socialise and play with toys.
