Hi there and welcome to TinyTalk-Staines and Walton. I am Emily and this little man is my son and Tinytalker James, who at seven months, showed his first signs of “milk” and “nappy”. This was a profoundly exciting and special event to experience. We all gave such a loud and excited response that he looked like he may never do it again, thankfully he did and at 16 months he is signing with such confidence and true understanding that it is joy to behold!

I decided to become a Tinytalk teacher after attending classes, as I knew very few nursery rhymes or action songs. We had got so much out of going and learnt how to sign as well, it was fantastic. The signing, singing, music and multisensory activities are just the best fun and we started to communicate with each other before James could speak something that has enriched our whole family’s life. This programme is so fabulous it just has to be shared and it is our privilege to be able to do just that.

The atmosphere in class is fun, friendly and relaxed which is the best environment to engage and learn a new skill in. The sessions are totally baby lead and the second half of the session is dedicated time to allow babies to play and interact whilst parents and carers enjoy a hot cup of something, a good natter, forge new friendships and indulge in a chocolate biscuit or two.

Sharing this experience with James and seeing him show his first sign and go on to development an amazing vocabulary-from raisins to helicopter to caterpillar, is just so incredibly exciting and rewarding that we can’t wait to share this with you.
