I started signing with my oldest daughter Hallie when she was just 5 months old and within a week she began signing for "milk" - wow, I could communicate with my baby - as the months went on she learned more and more signs and had 40+ signs by the time she was 1. Not only did this reduce frustration but it really helped me get to know my baby daughter by offering me an insight into her thoughts - she could tell me when she was in pain and I discovered that whilst she recognised the little yellow toy in her bath as a duck - she thought the real ducks in the pond were "birds"!!
I love baby signing so much and feel so passionate about sharing the numerous benefits that it can bring. So why not come along to one of my classes. You can learn to communicate with your baby through sign language, sing familiar nursery rhymes and get to know other parents and have a good old gossip over a cuppa and some biccies whilst the babies play with a wide selection of toys!
