Hi everyone, I'm Claire and I started teaching TinyTalk Baby Signing & Toddler Talk classes 13, yes 13 years ago now and I still LOVE every minute!
Being able to communicate with your baby from just
a few months old, by learning how to sign with them at TinyTalk, is just amazing and so much fun too! Not just for your baby but YOU TOO! Knowing what it is that your baby wants, needs, feels or sees as a result of them making a simple hand gesture (British Sign Language signs) is just incredible. I have taught thousands of babies to sign and helped Toddlers to talk and with key pre-school skills and have met and are now friends with so many families. I have seen babies sign from as young as 7 weeks and have seen Toddlers go on to sign sometimes over 300 signs! Both of my children signed and boy did it relieve a lot of frustration for everyone, trust me!
I take pride on making the classes’ fun for you and your little ones with some adult humour in them too!
Baby Signing classes are suitable from around 7 weeks - 11 months ish or walking, then it’s time for Toddler Talk classes. The format of a baby signing classes is half an hour of singing nursery rhymes and action songs, which we integrate signs into, using props, instruments, books, sensory shapes, flashing balls, mirrors, scarves, bubbles and lycra etc to make it fun and engaging. This is followed by half an hour of social time with toys for the babies & lots of tea, coffee & bikkies for you!
Toddler Talk classes are sooooooooo much fun and full of energy! Once your baby is on the move or up on their feet these classes are perfect as they let them have their freedom to roam and enjoy all of the props, books, instruments, lycra, parachute, flashing balls, sensory shapes, ribbons, pom poms etc we use. They encourage speech using signing as an aid until they are ready. Each week we have a theme i.e.: shapes, colours, counting etc and we also learn lots of key pre-school skills such as sharing, passing, putting away, listening etc too.

I love baby signing because:It allows families to communicate with their babies from such a young age and helps them to understand what it is their babies wants, needs, sees or how they feel. Plus its so much FUN!! x
