I've always been fascinated in the art of communication in all its beautiful forms and after a very enjoyable 8 week introductory course in British Sign Language (BSL) a few years ago, I decided to take it further and completed my BSL 1.

I really believed in sign language for babies. It made logical sense to me, research proved it and my first hand experience at seeing a friend's baby use it successfully before being able to talk was the ultimate proof for me. Add that with a fun activity to take part in with my little one, using my existing BSL skills and getting the rest of the family involved, I decided to sign up to the TinyTalk classes. We loved it and the real turning point was when Jack went from just understanding the signs, to actually using them himself from when he was around 9 months. He's just about to turn 2 now and I've lost count of how many signs he knows and has used or continues to use (probably most of the 150 TinyTalk signs)I believe it has really helped with his speech development and understanding of language. He does still use signs, some just through habit and others when he thinks I've not understood him or he knows I can't hear him.

Fate, opportunity, good timing? Call it what you will but when I got the chance to take on the Nottingham Central TinyTalk classes, I decided to pack up my existing job and go for it. I am dedicated to sharing my passion and learning with other families and that's why I believe you'll enjoy these classes.
