My background is working with children and adults with learning disabilities and began signing with my little boy through habit! I am so used to signing with people who are not able to speak and know from experience that communication is key in eliminating frustrations.

My little boy was able (at 6 months) to tell me if he needed his nappy changing. By 7 months he was able to sign 'juice', 'milk', 'water' (amongst other things) allowing him have choices and giving him freedom and independence. My sister-in-law saw an advert on Netmums looking for someone to take over TinyTalk classes in Chorley and Wigan and I thought 'why not'! I have to say, it was the best decision I have made!

I love the classes and seeing the babies and children developing. It never ceases to amaze me how clever babies are and everytime I hear someone has done a first sign I feel so proud!

Classes are 1 hour long with the first half hour packed with singing and signing and lots of fun! The second half hour is social time with lots of toys for babies and a selection of drinks (teas, coffees, juice) and, most importantly, chocolate biscuits!!!

The sessions are relaxed and friendly but the best advice is to come along and try them out for yourself! You won't be disappointed!
