Hello and welcome to TinyTalk Hackney and Islington! I’m Anna, and mum to TinyTalker Bella.

I’ve always been passionate about signing, so when Bella was born the combination of signing and little ones was perfect! Bella and I started going to TinyTalk classes when she was about 4 months old, and we haven’t looked back. I was so impressed by TinyTalk classes that I decided to start classes in Hackney and Islington.

Signing is a wonderful way of communicating. There’s no more frustration with trying to work out what’s wrong if Bella’s upset – we use signs to work out if she’s hungry, tired, thirsty... or a combination of everything! And there’s lots of fun to be had out and about, signing about the ducks, the boats, and lots of things we see.

And as well as helping communication before babies can talk, signing is a great way to help your baby’s speech and language develop.

My classes are very friendly, and we have lots of fun! Each class lasts around an hour – for the first half hour we learn some signs, and have fun practicing them and singing well-known nursery rhymes. The emphasis is on fun for babies and their carers, while learning some signs. For the second half hour we relax with a well-deserved cuppa and biscuits, while the babies enjoy some playtime. There's also plenty of time for questions or hints and tips on baby signing, and for certificates for babies who've learned some new signs.
